Ministry of transport, posts and telecommunications of the Slovak republic


The primary objective of the Ministry is to implement the TPT (Transport, posts and telecommunications) policy that will increase the competitiveness of the Slovak economy, ensure the social development of the society and allow the removal of regional disparities.

The draft Action Plan of Transport Policy formulates the fundamental tasks for the creation of conditions for the successive attainment

of the global aim of the TP, which is to provide for the sustainable mobility while reducing the negative environmental impacts of the transport.

 

These tasks are:

1. To increase the competitive environment of transport services by the achievement of balance between:

the individual transport modes, the freight road and the railway transport and the public passenger transport and the individual motorism;

 

2. To improve the conditions for a high-quality traffic service in regions by the development of transport infrastructure and transport services;

 

3. To ensure the effective utilisation of public funds in the area of transport and influence the division of transport work by the determination of just

payments for transport infrastructure;

 

4. To reduce the negative environ. impacts of the transport by the modernisation of the railway infrastructure, the renovation of the fleet, the technical

interoperability of the EU railway system, the harmonisation of the regulations in the motor vehicle design, the development of intermodal transport infrastructure and the development of

public passenger transport;

 

5. To protect the transport users by the improvement of transport safety, the creation of social, environmentally friendly and safe conditions for

the transport users.
