Bosch

Innovations from Bosch have had a decisive influence on automobile history. As a leading global manufacturer of automotive technology, the company significantly contributes toward making driving ever safer, cleaner, and more economical. In the research and development departments, a total of some 17,700 associates work on solutions for the automotive future. For example, Bosch played a central role in the development of the first electronically controlled antilock braking system (ABS), and in 1978 was the first supplier to bring this system to the market. The system formed the basis for all the active safety systems now found in the car. ESP®, the Electronic Stability Program based on ABS, is also a Bosch development. Today, the company is working intensively on ways of networking active and passive safety systems with driver assistance and vehicle communication. This networking provides the basis for functions that will further increase road safety.
