Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI)

Since the beginning of last century, Automobil Club d’Italia (ACI) has been following the evolution of the Italian motoring landscape, by becoming the significant focal point for all Italian motorists. ACI is a public, non-profit organization, which officially represents and defends the general interests of Italian motorists by managing [on behalf of the Italian Government] the Car Public Registry. This includes managing the taxes and payments services, vehicle ownership and the end-of-vehicle-life data for many Italian regions. Today, more than 1 million Italian drivers are members of ACI. Their advanced research and development labs and widespread presence on the Italian territory provide ACI an unparalleled understanding of motorists needs. They also, promote and encourage the development of Italian motoring by studying the issues around motoring, formulating proposals and giving opinions to the public administration in order to properly develop motoring in Italy. In addition to these activities, they also implement technical, road, financial, legal, insurance assistance, promote car training and drivers education in order to improve the usage of vehicles on the Italian motorways.
